City of Cape Town, Urban Mobility Dashboards are designed to analyse the data to understand the patterns and dynamics of various business areas of transportation in the City

FMS Sensor Data

About 150 kilometers of freeway is jointly overseen by the City and the National and Provincial government. The roadways are monitored by over 240 cameras strategically positioned along the route, which transmit real-time data to the Freeway Management System. This system is responsible for managing any incidents, collecting and distributing traffic information, and coordinating law enforcement efforts on public roads.

This dashboard analyses and presents the FMS sensor data.

Traffic Volumes

Traffic Volume Count is counting of the number of vehicles passing through a road over a period. It is defined as the procedure to determine mainly volume of traffic moving on the roads at a particular section during a particular time. This dashboard presents the traffic volume counts for the City of Cape Town

City Fleet Sensor Data

City of Cape Town fleet vehicles range from patrol vehicles to utility vehicles and some specialised vehicles including fire trucks, plant and equipment vehicles etc., This dashboard presents data received from sensors of these fleet.

MyCiti Door Closures

MyCiTi is the rapid transit for getting around the City of Cape Town. These buses are safe and efficient, with stops and stations around the city connecting commuters to major destinations and other transport routes and networks including the airport. This dashboard reports on the door closures based on data received from the censors in the buses.
